Hone · A workout tracker for iPhone & Apple Watch
No. You can tap “Continue without an account” and use Hone entirely on your device: log workouts, plan your week, and track progress. An account only adds cloud backup and sync across your devices. You can create one later at any time without losing your data.
Yes. The core app (logging sets, scheduling workouts, health charts, the Apple Watch app, and the widget) is free. Hone+ is an optional subscription that unlocks extra planning power and the full exercise library.
Hone+ is the optional subscription. It unlocks Smart Schedule (the automatic weekly planner), the full bundled exercise library and workout generation, scheduling further than 7 days ahead, and higher limits on custom workouts and exercises. The two Full Body starter workouts and everything you create yourself always stay free.
It’s billed monthly or yearly through your Apple ID, and you can cancel anytime in the App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple, and we never see your card details.
When you’re signed in, your workouts, schedule, and history are securely backed up and synced automatically. Sign in with the same account on another iPhone and your data restores itself. Without an account, your data stays on that one device only.
Yes. The Hone watch app lets you start and run today’s workout from your wrist, check off sets (including a double-tap gesture to complete the next set), see your rest timer, and view your step and calorie totals. It also has watch face complications showing your workout progress.
Yes. The home-screen widget shows today’s workout, your progress ring, and your steps and calories. During a workout, a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island shows your progress and a live rest-timer countdown.
If you grant permission, Hone reads steps, active and resting energy, body weight, VO₂ max, walking/running distance, body-fat percentage, lean body mass, and workout sessions, to show your progress charts and color your activity heatmap. Health access is entirely optional and the app works fully without it. Hone only reads these values; the one thing it writes back is a finished workout when you complete one on your Apple Watch, so it appears in your activity rings.
The raw values Hone reads from Apple Health stay on your device and are never uploaded. The single exception is a derived daily activity score between 0 and 1, calculated from your active-energy total, which syncs with your account so your activity heatmap looks the same on your other devices. No underlying Health values, workout types, or heart-rate data are contained in or derivable from that score.
You can remove it anytime in Settings → Remove Health Data, which deletes it from your device and your account. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
Smart Schedule (a Hone+ feature) is an automatic weekly planner. You tell it how many days a week you want to train, which days work for you, and which muscle groups to focus on, and it builds a rotating plan for you, generating a fresh workout for each day. It respects any day you’ve edited or planned yourself and never overwrites a workout you’ve already started.
Yes. Go to Settings → Workout → Weight Unit and choose kg or lb. It applies everywhere (the app, watch, and widget) and syncs across your devices.
When you enter your one-rep max for the big lifts (bench, squat, deadlift, overhead press) in your profile (onboarding asks for your bench to get you started), Hone estimates a sensible working weight for each exercise based on the rep count and the equipment you have. You can always override any weight by hand.
On the sign-in screen, enter your email and tap “Forgot password?”. We’ll email you a reset link.
In the app, open your profile from Settings, then choose Delete Account (you’ll be asked to re-enter your password to confirm). This permanently removes your workouts, schedule, sessions, profile details, avatar, and the derived activity score from our systems, and removes your sign-in record. This can’t be undone.
Email us at support@honereps.com and we’ll get back to you.
